Evolve Check-In

In our final episode of the season we discussed the word Evolve with Toki Sawada. One of the striking things about this conversation was the realization that you don’t have to know exactly where you are going to continue to evolve. Picking one small goal - maybe I want to approach the world with a little more compassion, or maybe I want to practice firmer boundaries - is still a step towards evolving into the best version of yourself.

In this episode, Toki also made a serendipitous connection between the flow of gaining perspective in life and evolving. Our first episode this season was focused on perspective, so this felt like closing the loop.

Towards the second half of the episode, we talked about the importance of society evolving, and discussed our fears around going backwards as a nation. We had no idea that one day before our episode would air, our country would overturn Roe v. Wade and thrust us back 50 years. While we are all doing our best to move forward, it is important to acknowledge that this is devastating for women, for human rights, and for our country. Our podcast is a place to focus on holistic health and being our best selves and within that, we know that we deserve to be disgusted, saddened, and outraged too.

*Pausing for a breath*
