Boundaries Check-in

A boundary is defined as something that indicates or fixes a limit or extent, a dividing line.


In talking to Michele we learned why we experience so much discomfort setting boundaries and that we need to continually remind people of our boundaries. Establishing boundaries is not something we should expect to accomplish the first time we speak on them.


Below are some of the questions that we mulled over to prepare us for our boundaries episode. We invite you to reflect on these questions and consider them as journal prompts. Perhaps find a companion to discuss answers!

  1. Why do you think boundaries are important in your life?

  2. What kind of impact can boundaries have on building self-care, self-love, and self-leadership?

  3. How can setting boundaries improve your 2022?

  4. Can you give a success story or a boundary failure that taught you the importance of having healthy boundaries?

  5. Michele introduced that there are several types of boundaries - Emotional boundaries, material boundaries, time boundaries, intellectual boundaries, sexual boundaries are among them. Which area in your life would benefit from stronger boundaries?

  6. How can you begin to set boundaries at home with the people you are closest to (spouses, friends, family members)?

  7. How can you set boundaries at work?

  8. Workshop how you want to react when someone resists your boundaries.

  9. How can you begin to set boundaries in an environment where you have a history of not setting them?

  10. Name one new practice you can add to your life (and practice it) this week! Talk or Think about how it went, and whether you will continue. If you plan to continue, what can help you be accountable?
